DAY 1: Entebbe
On arrival into Entebbe you will be met and assisted to the FRONTIERS HOTEL where you stay for one night.
Time permitting you may wish to visit the Botanical Gardens in Entebbe which are a short taxi journey from the hotel, enjoy a guided cycling tour or a half-day tour of Mabamba Swamp in search of giant Shoebill birds.
DAY 2 : BWINDI IMPENETRABLE FOREST
Fly by light aircraft to Bwindi as we kick-start the gorilla safari adventure. Arriving around 9.30am.
Transfer to BUHOMA HAVENS LODGE where you stay for two nights as you prepare for our existing gorilla safari.
In the afternoon you will be taken on a community walking tour which offers an insight into the local area and communities within Buhoma including a visit to the tea plantation, local healer, gin production, schools and hospital.
Time permitting, you can also walk down to the river on your own or browse the craft market stalls.
DAY 3 : BWINDI IMPENETRABLE FOREST
Enjoy the wildlife encounter of a lifetime as you trek the majestic Mountain Gorillas. You will join up to 8 other individuals in your group. Once located your group will spend 1 hour observing them. It is an extraordinary feeling sitting in the dense rain-forest knowing you are with a few of the last remaining mountain gorillas.
Full guidance on trekking, clothing, tipping and preparations for the gorilla safari will be issued upon booking.
In the afternoon you will be taken to the Ride 4 a Woman community project and center where you can browse the craft shop and learn more about the work this special project does to integrate the communities of buhoma and help the women gain skills and employment. This is also home to a clean water pump which services the community.
DAY 4 : END OF ITINERARY
Optional morning or afternoon flight departure back to Entebbe and this will mark the end of our gorilla safari adventure
